One of the most popular supermarkets Alpha Mega  will open its doors to Paphos citizens in October 2011. Hadjidemosthenous Developers have signed contracts last August and construction has alredy started.

It will be located near the round-about on the entrance to Paphos from Limassol, next to the Paphos Plaza entertainment center.

EasyJet has finally officially announced launch of the new Route to Paphos later this year. The Edinburgh - Paphos flights will start on the 3rd of November this year. Easyjet airplanes will fly to Paphos from Edinburgh twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Prices for one-way tickets start at only 31.99 Pounds Sterling.

Famous pop star from Greece Sakis Rouvas has made his appearance in Paphos on the 13th of August. He has cancelled though his press-conference at the Muse cafe opening scheduled for Thursday because "he was tired". The star was greeted on the steps of Paphos town hall by mayor of Paphos Savvas Vergas and excited young fans.

Last Sunday termometers in the Cyprus capital Nicosia showed a record temperature of 46 degrees Celsius.

Weather bureau predicts decrease of the temperatures by Wednesday, however, Mercury bar readings will remain above 37 degrees.

Paphos is known for its mild climate and during the last heatwave temperatures in Paphos remained a few degrees lower than in the other Cyprus areas.
